Hakushu Distillers Reserve 70cl is known as ‘the fresh Japanese whisky,’ Hakushu is an herbal and gently smoky single malt from Suntory’s Mount Kaikoma distillery. Thanks to the mountain’s microclimate of luscious forests and water from rain and snow through centuries old granite rock, the malt whiskies born here are blessed with a rare softness and purity.

From the Hakushu distillery in the foothills of Mount Kaikomagatake comes their Distiller's Reserve single malt whisky, a no-age-statement expression, that captures the smoky, herbaceous characteristics of their whiskies. Both lightly-peated and heavily-peated malts were used for this complex and deeply enjoyable whisky. One of two Spring 2014 release from Suntory.

Respecting Hakushu’s heritage and signature taste, lightly peated malt whiskies are combined with aged American white oak cask malt whiskies to enhance Hakushu’s refreshing, crisp characteristics. Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve is a whisky that is smooth in its complex nuances and as vibrant as a fresh green leaf.

Built amidst the deepest forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake in the Japanese Southern Alps, the Hakushu distillery is without question one of the highest in the world. The majestic forest that surrounds the distillery shelters some six thousand varieties of plants-almost twice the number found in Western Europe. The malt whiskies born here are simultaneously blessed with a very particular microclimate, luxurious forests, and water offering a rare softness and purity, only made possible by filtration of rain and snow through thousand-year-old granite rocks.
