The corn and barley are separately distilled into various batches with a slight difference in ABV and taste profile. These batches are carefully blended by experts and then refined with white birch charcoal. Using the two Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, which were imported from Scotland to Japan in 1963, Nikka have produced a number of single cask single grain whiskies from time to time over the years.
Following the success of Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt, the Coffey Vodka was added to the range in 2017 to further pursue the beauty of the Coffey stills. This project was accomplished by combining the tangible and intangible assets of Nikka such as the traditional Coffey stills, expertise in distilling gin and vodka since the 1960s, and blending skills inherited from the founder, along with the innovative mind.
In particular, the Nikka Coffey Vodka is adored for its zesty, sweet, spicy and white pepper flavor notes. On the palate, the vodka offers sweet and fruity flavours of melon, grapefruit and thick syrup, balanced by crunchy biscuits and fresh vanilla. Expect fruity notes like white peaches, a hint of cereal flakes and a clean finish.
